Amy and anyone else living there,

I hope the house is fine. Just let me assume that it is. Please make it so it’s fine when I get home. We’ve arrived in Esgaroth, the big city there. It’s very nice. I miss Bree more and less at the same time, because this is a town like Bree is (Only, nicer- shhh!) but it’s also so far away. The other day I had to explain where Bree-town was by saying that it is over the mountains, and that was so weird. I hope to come back as soon as I can.

Don’t do anything stupid!
-Coroline

P.S. Can you please try to help get these letters to the right places? I can’t for the life of me remember many of the names I needed.

Hal,

We’re in Esgaroth, the large city here. Mathdor is being very cagey, as usual, but things are fine. We’re both well, and living in an inn- NOT sleeping in our cloaks, so it’s really fantastic. I don’t know if you’ll be in Bree to get this or not, but I wanted to let you know that I’m thinking of you. If you are away with the company, I hope that you are safe! And maybe even dating someone. I hope you have someone when I get back, Hal. For both our sakes.

Love,
Coroline

Will,

I’m mailing both you and Hal, so I suppose that either both of you will get these, or neither will. Everything is okay. We have arrived in Esgaroth, and the lake is really beautiful. I can imagine you writing a poem about it, or a song. There is a lot of music here, when anyone smiles. It’s also sad. You can tell that the war is closer. I hope that you’re enjoying the winter, whatever sky you’re looking at.

-Coroline

Ben,

I hope you’re having a good winter. How was Yule? How is Atan, moody as usual? I can’t believe I have to miss Yule, being out here. I’m not even sure what I was doing on the holiday. Probably shivering. But it’s alright, we’re in the city now- Esgaroth. The place that Mathdor was born, I think. Or at least where he used to live. He wants to find his wife, who still lives here, he thinks. It makes me feel like a third wheel, but I guess that’s my own fault. Maybe I’ll meet a nice fellow in Dale. But then I wouldn’t be able to come home. Oh, well. We’ll see what happens. Write me back?

Love,
Coroline

Hrafen,

Thank you for the letter before. I can’t remember if I ever wrote back to it! My mind’s probably leaving me. Don’t worry.
We’re here in Esgaroth, but Mathdor refuses to even think about doing that thing that you mentioned to me last time. I told him that we could at least try it, and stop if it isn’t good.
Here’s hoping Bree-town is as boring as usual, for your sake. Smoke plenty of your pipe-weed for me.

-Coroline

Habibi,

Meet me in town, up where the scholars work. We need to talk about something that I found out. I am not hurt this time, but it is still important.

Dan
